History of The Department |
|
|
|
The department of Computer Applications was started in the year 2000
and offers a 3 Year Degree Programme in Bachelor of Computer Applications, affiliated
to Bharathiar University . It has got an intake admission strength of 60 students.
During the year 2001, the department offers a 3 Year Master Degree Programme in
Master of Computer Applications with sanctioned strength of 60 students and also
Bachelor of Computer Applications (Additional) with sanctioned strength of 60.During the year of 2007 the MCA (additional) was started with sanctioned strength 30. The present strength is 120, headed with a Director with Ph.D qualification.
The department has 18 fully qualified, motivated and dedicated
members of staff with 2 Lab Instructors and 2 Lab Assistants satisfing the norms
of the Bharathiar University and AICTE , New Delhi.

- To achieve the overall pass percentage of 90% for the first year, 95% for the second
year and 100% for the final year UG & PG students.
- To Conduct department seminars by inviting experts in the related field which will give students an exposure to industry.
- To organize department functions at the National level once a semester which encourage students to improve themselves by participating in all activitiess.
- To update hardware and software resources in laboratory to meet the challenging IT industry apart from the syllabus.
- To achieve Academic excellence at the university level.
- To enrich the students with practical Knowledge and latest updates in the industry.
- To provide quality placements for all students.
