Garment Construction Lab:

This laboratory is equipped with latest range of sewing machines & and special purpose machines. The laboratory is resourceful with all equipments required for constructing garments, various types of trims & accessories used for surface embellishment.

                        Textile processing lab

This laboratory is rich for textile chemistry study. Aspects of textile processing, printing, dyeing & testing goes with full swing here.

                 CAD Lab:     

The significant breakthroughs in product development during the last two decades have been no small measure due to the use of computers in design manufacture. We provide an insight of this by giving practical training to the students through internationally valid software, TUKA, REACH, Corel draw & Photoshop. Every student gets the opportunity to practice in CAD applications, digital designing & model visualization.

Excellent academic standards which include reputed practitioners, experts & consultants are invited in order to guarantee a high quality & up to date student program, guest lecturers, viva, seminars are organized & regular meetings are held to analyze input from our faculty, academic advisory board and feedback from students

Both the staff members & students participate in off campus college seminars. So far the faculty has conducted a National level student’s symposium & workshop, Fashion show, Textile Exhibition for the benefit of the students.

Students are taken for industrial visits where they are exposed to practical aspects on their site visits & commencing project reports.

The staffs contribute their services voluntarily to all academic activities, curricular, co curricular & extracurricular activities with team spirit & positive attitude. They join as NSS volunteers & participate in extension activities at the adopted village.

Achievement…

              A staff from the department is a member in the Board of Studies and has suggested certain modification in the syllabus enabling students to acquire practical knowledge and get job opportunities. The changes that had been made during the past two years are (i)introducing more number of practical papers and (ii) a Diploma course within the syllabus for Costume Design & Fashion  UG course.

              The department has been maintaining a high pass percentage in University examinations.  Our faculty member serves as a Placement coordinator to assist the Placement Officer of the College and guide the students of Costume Design and Fashion in getting placement. 76% of the student employed in reputed companies and 24% of the students progress to the further studies. The department staff members produce 100% result in various papers. We also have published articles in national and international journals.
